Third Time Lucky

A Tangled Web by Viviane Elisabeth Borg gets another lease of life when it is released on Friday 12th August 2016 by Luminosity Publishing, UK.

This will be third time in four years that A Tangled Web which is a mystery/suspense novel with romantic elements is published.

It was first published independently by Robert L J Borg as an e-book on Smashwords in 2012:

A Tangled Web Cover Final Revised

In 2014, Sweet Cravings Publishing, USA (SCP) made an offer to publish the novel as an e-book and in print. Sales of the book did reasonably well under their banner, a lot to do perhaps with the flattering review by Nightowl: http://www.nightowlreviews.com/v5/Reviews/Paulinemichael-reviews-A-Tangled-Web-by-Viviane-Elisabeth-Borg

Regrettably in September 2015 SCP went out of business and publishing rights were restored to the author.

Since then the book was submitted to several publishers and in May 2016 a three-year worldwide publishing contract was offered and accepted.

Viviane Elisabeth Borg is now eagerly looking forward to seeing her novel “live” again for all those millions of potential readers who enjoy a good mystery with romantic elements and, of course, a happy ending…

Serena Burton is a shy and disillusioned young English woman holidaying on the idyllic Mediterranean island of Malta. Although she finds romance with the hotel manager, Luigi Coletti she finds it hard to commit herself completely to their relationship. This is mostly due to her deep involvement in the life of her employer, an elderly writer named Louisa Weston.

As Serena gradually discovers Louisa’s strange past she is drawn into a tangled web of hidden mysteries. As these are slowly uncovered her fledging romance struggles to develop into something more meaningful. Regardless Luigi persists and though he perceives a future, it comes at a high price…

You will be able to find Viviane’s book initially on Luminosity’s website at http://luminositypublishing.com/ and then on the usual popular book distributors. Buy links will be added to the blog page of A Tangled Web as they become available.

To those people who have not yet read it, please do, as I am sure you would enjoy it. I for one who has reviewed it countless times when working alongside the Sweet Cravings and Luminosity editors will never tire of it.

My Mum

Phew!!! It’s been a busy weekend…

What with cleaning the house from top to bottom in preparation of the wife’s return home next week. Yes that’s right she’s been overseas on holiday – Ireland and England [The Lake District, Milton Keynes, London, Devon]. I don’t begrudge her as it’s the first time she has been overseas in years and she deserves a holiday. But I’ll be glad to have her home again – it has been lonely around here!!

I have also been setting my mum up onto the social media platform. She is now on Twitter, Facebook, and has a blog of her very own [although I’ll also keep her as partner on this one as well].

For those of you who don’t know, Mum – Viviane Elisabeth Borg – has scored a contract for her novel “A Tangled Web” with Secret Cravings Publishing of TN. U.S.A. As part of the contract conditions she needs to be able to self-promote her novel when it is published. It is scheduled for e-release in September this year [2014] and a print version by March 2015. I am hoping the publishers will consider bringing this date forward to the 15th January 2015 to coincide with Mum’s 90th birthday – wouldn’t that be grand??

Please follow mum’s blog it’s at: http://vivianeeborg25.wordpress.com

Her Facebook account is at: http://www.facebook.com/vivianeeborg25  and you can find her on Twitter @ VivianeEBorg1

Needlesstosay it will be me who maintains these sites on her behalf, as I am sure you will appreciate that due to her failing eye-sight any dealings in these areas will prove to be extremely difficult for her.

I love my mum [and family] very much and there is nothing that is too much for me to do for them.

Re-Think…

I expect it’s because I have yet another cold at present which has got me thinking about doing things differently or should I say revising my priorities.

I had decided I would be putting book writing on hold for a couple of months and concentrate on my blogs whilst I await on the fate of The Sword and the Rose and To Embrace Amidst Orange Blossoms.

Although I have every intention to write Out of the Darkness and Affectionately Yours… I think I may be putting these two books on a back-burner for a while.

The reason being that I have had a re-think… and a re-prioritisation of what to write.

When my mother published her memoir in 1997 she said she had regretted naming it When the Wind Blows. One of the reasons was because the author James Patterson had released a best seller at the same time with the same title [Barnes & Noble rating 4/5 and Goodreads 3.9/5].

The main reason however was her unmovable love for the Nile. As children growing up in London in the late fifties and sixties all we ever seemed to hear was reminisces of her life in that far away land.

Some time ago Mum came up with the idea of re-writing her book with a revised title; but now in her late 80’s and suffering from macula degeneration the likelihood of this happening is next to zero. As a loving son and author in my own right, I hope to allow her achieve this ambition by re-writing it on her behalf.

I agreed to do so on one condition. Mum had used fictitious names for the characters in her book. This being a memoir of her life experiences I see no reason as to why the true names should not appear, especially now as so many of them are deceased. This book would then be a tribute to their memory as it would be for my father’s as my mother had intended.

The only other change I may make is to add photographs where appropriate [always assuming I can find them – mum had a clear out of these not too long ago and I fear many memories have gone to some landfill project]. The rest of the book will remain unchanged except in the Preface where references are made in the present [for we are now in the 21st century] and will be presented in the same manner of the original book.

Ever since mum wrote her memoirs the book has been in high demand; unfortunately as she only printed a limited number of copies many people who would have loved to have read her story never got that opportunity. It is hoped by re-writing it as a soft copy initially it may allow greater distribution. When it is completed I will be sending it on her behalf to various 3rd Party Publishers in the hope they will pick up the option to turn this good book into a great one.

As of today Exiled Children of the Nile will begin to take shape. I hope I can do it and my mum justice.

Gravatar Photo is changed and updated

As mentioned earlier today, I have now updated the Gravatar photo to this site. As it’s not just me anymore, it’s me and my mum.

Hopefully I can persuade her to submit a few additional writings and/or poems for me to blog on her behalf. But at least you, my readers, may appreciate her writings as well as my own.

We’ll see. Meanwhile I’m still editing her novel “A Tangled Web” and I’m enjoying reading it again as I’m going along. And I expect I’ll have fun reading it a couple or so more times before I commit it to e-publishing in a couple of month’s time.

As I sign off my Blogs RLB – Tomewriter, My mum’s sign off will be: VEB – Tomewriter – Now I’ve just got to work on her to come up with some writing.
